Born in Niš, on 09.11.1955. , she has also finished primary and secondary music education in MS „Dr Vojislav Vučković“ in Niš. She has graduated from Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade – Department of Music Theory.
Bilja Krstić worked as a solfège and piano teacher in „St. St. Mokranjac“ music school in Negotin. Biljana has been present at Serbian pop scene for many years. She was a regular memeber of the band „Suncokret“ and also Đorđe Balašević’s „Rani Mraz“ band. During her university days at FMU , she started a solo career. She has released three pop music albums: “Prevari večeras svoj društvo sa mnom“, „Iz unutrašnjeg džepa“ and „Bilja“. The „Loptom do zvezda“ album with lyrics by eminent Serbian poets was dedicated to children. She was a member of „Collegium musicum“ choir and „Youth choir Dr Vojislav Vučković“ from Niš. She sang in movies „Nije nego“, „Zona Zamfirova“ and RTV documentary- feature movie „Krušedol- 500 years“.
With „Bistrik“ orchestra, she has been promoting ethnomusicological heritage of Balkans for 18 years. She made a link between local ethnic music and contemporary trends. Bilja recieved numerous honors from critics as also from audience at concerts across Europe and the whole world. In support of that, applies the fact that Bilja is the only female performer from the Mediterran invited to „Mostra Sesc de Artes“ festival in Sao Paulo, as a member of Mediterraneo Orchestra, consisted of 25 most prominent World Music performers from all over the world. She has performed at Coloseum in Rome with Ray Charles, Mercedes Sosa, at festivals in Indonesia, Brasil, US, Canada, Russia, Turkey, Greece, Poland, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Romania, Ukraine...

Since 2012, Biljana runs a vocal workshop „Bistrik“ (for young singers).
The fourth a capella album „Izvorište“ has been released in 2013 (PGP RTS) , that presented vocal treasure of serbian traditional music. That same year, a book „Izvorište“ has been announced, with music score of the songs presented on the album.
In 2014, together with Miki Stanojević, she has been working on movie score for director Srđan Koljević’s movie „Branio sam Mladu Bosnu“ and won Grand Prix for Music of SOFEST 2015 festival.
In 2017, she released album „Svod“ with her band „Bistrik“, for London-based record label, ARC music.
